This is a Venezuelan dish served in a Colombian restaurant.
Here is a little history lesson, Colombia and Venezuela were once part of one big country called “LA GRAN COLOMBIA”
Since the beginning of times we have been fighting for the origins of food, but in this case, although some dishes are distinctly different nowadays, they are pretty much the same in essence.
Colombia has #arepadechoclo and Venezuela has #cachapa
With that being said, I enjoyed this dish because who doesn’t like corn, eggs and cheese???
Apart from that the actual cornmeal cake was a little dry and overly sweet.
Actually, all the food was average or below average…
The garlic mayo, AKA: Green Sauce is visually flavorful, but realistically bland.
It was the case for most of the items we tasted.
Visually promising, but disappointing!
This is the kind of place I want to love and it hurts to know it could be so much better.
This isn’t my first visit and I remember the food being better…
Maybe more focus on the food instead of the profits.
