For years I’ve eaten these in different parts of Florida and this is nicest one I’ve had. Not sure if the most flavorful, but the tidiest and the best assembled for sure! Plus, they have the right sauces, so you can correct flavor as you go. And “CHIQUI” means small in Spanish and nothing is small at this restaurant!
I was recently informed by @forevercerdita due to this visit, that these aren’t traditional pepitos. Apparently, they are originally from #barquisimeto and I’ve never had the real thing… I’ll do the proper research and get back to you with the results in theory and practice.
FYI: this doesn’t mean these sandwiches are less, because they aren’t the first manifestation of their kind.
Respecting tradition and understanding the source of dishes is important, but keeping an opened mind and heart to adaptation, change and evolution is essential when it come to food!
