The chef doesn’t view his food as Venezuelan. I disagree, it’s definitely Venezuelan, but just from another spectrum of the multiverse.
It’s like Venezuelan food from a different reality, if you didn’t follow me before.
I’m not saying it’s better, I’m just saying is different and I love different!
It’s not the usual massive Arepa Rellena. It’s smaller and infused with a different UMAMI element every day. (Mushroom in this occasion)
The stuffing isn’t out of control, it’s carefully selected premium ingredients, prepared with care.
The sauces are unusual, but they make sense and the flavors touch your heart through nostalgia and surprise.
Eating here is always exciting for me, and I actually like leaving satisfied without feeling lethargic…
Smaller portions, but HUGE flavor!
If I had to find something to pick on, it would be the sweetness in the food. Some of his dishes tend to be overly sweet. I don’t mind this at all, and if I do, I just add some of his incredible hot sauce and the dish just gets balanced and better.
