I am the guy that gets an extra savory dish before having dessert and the most epic moment of the night was, when my brain exploded after being flabbergasted by the forest floor…
HOLY SHIT!
I had never experienced so much UMAMI in a dessert. I don’t mean sugar or sweetness, I mean depth of flavor and dimension, while being sweet.
It’s definitely not traditional, and maybe dessert people with a sweet tooth might disagree, but it’s the perfect example of what makes me excited about eating out and experiencing someone else’s food.
There were savory dishes that I might have enjoyed more, but this took it for wowing me the most…
STANDING OVATION
Note: All the desserts were exceptional. The Nitro Patbingsu was a bright start to the sweet courses. The presentation and the play on temperatures and textures was very fun and invigorating.
The Orange Tart was literally to die for!!! They should sell them to take home by the box. I would get them by the dozen.
Now, the Forest Floor just swept me off my feet!
