I walk-in confident into Korean restaurants, because I know the bibimbap will never disappoint.
This cold noodle dish made it seem like beggars food!
I discussed the dish with the server letting him know I was in between it and my go-to bibimbap.
He was worried about me being disappointed or maybe not getting what I was expecting…
I don’t blame him, at a glance I seem very vanilla, but I’m actually pretty adventurous. So, even if I wasn’t crazy about it, I would still be happy by the thrill of trying something new.
The dish is represented on the menu as spicy, and it really isn’t.
It had spice, but it was really balanced. It was definitely a flavor bomb…
It was UMAMI in a bowl!
I was debating as to eating it entirely at the restaurant and taking everything else I had ordered to go, but I exercised good judgement and ate everything else and took the cold noodles home.
If you didn’t get the implicit, it’s a cold dish… it would be just as good later and I made the right call…
I ate it later that evening as I watched a good movie on my couch. It was actually better, because I wasn’t influenced by any other flavors or my full stomach.
NOLLAN means AMAZED in Korean and that’s the best way I can express how I felt after trying this dish!
