I’m beginning to think the real power behind this restaurant is the Instagram manager behind their social media page and not the food.
Perception is everything and when someone understands that, it becomes very easy to manipulate.
My perception of this place until yesterday was: They are very creative and I like how they are presenting the dishes in different ways.
I actually felt it benefited the food and I think I was wrong.
Being completely unbiased and not considering how cool the pics look, the food is very average apart from the quality of the seafood.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to experience this restaurant as a regular customer, instead of letting the owners control the experience and rhetoric and it was very different.
I was on a wait list for close to 45 min to sit on outdoor fast food tables. I asked for one of the trendy Christmas items all over social media and I was told it had to be requested with a 24hr notice, which was a bummer from a consumer’s standpoint.
Unfortunately, this was then followed by them making us wait another 45 min for our sushi and they got my whole order wrong.
I ordered my sushi donut vegetarian and it came with an assortment of raw fish. My daughter ordered a sushi burrito and they missed it completely. When I spoke to the server about it, she said she could put it in, but it would take another 45 min.
So, the only thing my daughter and I ate was bland edamame with soggy sushi fries… yes the fries were not fried properly and it was still the best thing on our table.
Oh, and nobody actually cared about our shitty experience.
The best thing about the night was that the other 2 groups that were going to eat with us decided to eat elsewhere.
I was saved from massive embarrassment after hyping up the place so much…
I’d strongly recommend they get their act together!
