This is an Asian owned donut shop, well know for carrying amazing cronuts.
Cronuts are an engineered mix of baked species…
It’s a cross between a croissant and a glazed donut and the result should be ilegal in all states, but Florida. (We are known to do our own thing)
Unfortunately, we can’t take credit for creating it, but it would be cool if we were the only one’s legalized to sell it recreationally! 😂
I’m done with my own jokes, but ordering at this spot can be quite entertaining if you decide to go off menu like I do with special requests.
First, I tried to have them include cronuts in the dozen boxes and it was impossible.
I told them to charge extra for each one they included and they almost escorted me out. So, I let that one go and decided to have them bag them separately.
Then I had the brilliant idea of getting a breakfast sandwich done in a cronut instead of the allowed menu options.
The non family hired attendant, said it wasn’t possible and kind of suggested what was already implied with her facial expressions.
I, then sighed and voiced like a spoiled child how disappointed I was and that I had at least tried… I was just tryin to self suede after my undeniable defeat.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a commotion breaks in the kitchen, words are said in a foreign language and the man who seemed like the owner said they could do ANYTHINGGGGGGGGG!
A Total spin. I was super happy and accomplished and the employee was super frazzled, but mind blown.
The ending was as mind boggling as the entire experience… another employee that seemed part of the family business dropped a brown paper bag on my table and did the shush, don’t say anything routine and went back to her duties.
I didn’t dare to open the bag until I was back in my car. I opened the bag slowly to find an apple fritter buried under a mountain of donut holes.
Honestly, I was a little disappointed… I thought the contents of the bag would be a batch of unregulated cronuts, but my kids and I happily stuffed our faces with them after dinner.
THE CRONUTS ARE GREAT, THE DONUTS ARE GOOD
